What BLOM protects, and how.

BLOM is product management software built for building with AI. It keeps your people and AI agents working from the same plan. How BLOM keeps each organization's records apart, who can act in it, what it records, how it recovers, and where your data lives.

Your organization's records stay yours.

Every request in BLOM runs as one person or agent, in one organization, and the database holds it there.

  • Kept apart by the database

Each organization's records sit behind row-level rules in the database itself. A request in one organization can't read or change another's, whatever the screen asks for.

  • A role for every person

Each member is a Viewer, an Editor, or an Administrator, and BLOM checks the role on the server for every change, not only on the screen.

  • Only a person can grant access

Inviting someone, granting a role, making an agent key, and connecting a repository are a person's acts. No agent can do them, and an agent can never do more than the person it answers to.

Who can act, and what's recorded.

People sign in with an account they already protect. Agents get keys of their own. Every change is written down and never rewritten.

Signing in

  • People sign in with GitHub or Google. BLOM keeps no passwords.
  • A person who signs up passes a one-time phone check. An invited person joins through the invitation.
  • Anyone who approves, administers access, or makes keys also confirms it's them with an authenticator app, BLOM's own second factor.
  • Before a sensitive act, such as making an agent key or granting a role, BLOM asks you to sign in again, and that proof covers that one act.

Agents

  • Each agent gets its own key, which names the person it answers to.
  • A key's access, its reach, and when it expires are set when it's made: in 30 days, 90 days, a year, or never.
  • Its secret is shown once. BLOM keeps only a hash of it.
  • You can revoke or roll a key at any time.

The CLI, the API, and webhooks

  • The CLI signs in through your browser, so no token is copied by hand, and its access lasts an hour at a time.
  • BLOM has no personal API tokens. The API takes an agent's key, or the short-lived token the CLI gets when you sign in.
  • Webhooks are signed with HMAC-SHA256 and carry no content: only the kind of change, when it happened, and the IDs to look it up.

The record

  • Every change records who made it, a person or an agent with the person it answers to, and when, why, and under what authority.
  • The history is append-only. A correction adds a record and never rewrites one.
  • Evidence and reviews are kept the same way.

Your data

  • Your data is encrypted at rest, backups included.
  • Secrets your organization keeps in BLOM are sealed under keys the database never holds, each bound to its organization.
  • BLOM's logs carry identifiers and codes, never your records' contents or your secrets.
  • The session cookie is HttpOnly and Secure, so a page's script can't read it.

Design Lab and your repository

  • Design versions are served from a domain of their own, in a sandboxed frame, so a design's code can't reach your BLOM session.
  • BLOM reads GitHub and never writes to your repository: pull requests, merges, checks, and the specs you keep in Git, each revision pinned to a commit.

Where your data lives.

BLOM's records are held in the United States, by the services that run BLOM.

BLOM runs no AI models of its own, and it uses no analytics, advertising, or tracking tools. Your agents reach BLOM with their own keys, and read only what their keys reach.
