Your queue

Your queue lists the open tasks that wait on you or are assigned to you, priority first, with the notes that mention you above them.

In BLOMWorkYour queue

What's in your queue

A task enters your queue in two ways:

  • its current next action waits on you, or
  • the task is assigned to you, so its current step is yours to do.

A task whose next action is blank is in no one's queue, even when it's assigned. BLOM works your queue out from the tasks each time you open it, so it's always as current as the tasks themselves.

The queue is sorted priority first, then longest waiting, and shows 50 entries at a time. Select Show more for the rest. Reading your queue changes nothing: it doesn't assign or claim anything by itself.

ColumnWhat it shows
PriorityThe task's priority level, or Not set.
TaskIts ID and title, which open the task's page, with its type, the item it's on, its phase, its activity, and a Job's initiative.
Next actionThe step it waits on, who it waits on, who suggested it, and how long it has waited, such as 3 h · since 09:14.
AssignmentWho the task is assigned to and since when: You, a person, or an agent marked (agent). Unassigned when no one is.

On a Bug or another report, the Assignment column can also say that someone else's claim holds the step, such as Grace Hopper’s claim holds this step. Next actions and claims explains claims.

When nothing waits on you, the page says Nothing waits on you. A task enters your queue when someone suggests or sets a next action you can take.

Your queue shows the work that waits on you. To see who is working on what across your organization, open Coordination: the claims in progress, where they overlap and how each overlap is handled, the Stale claims waiting to be picked up, and the conflicts recorded when work collided anyway. Next actions and claims covers it.

Filter the queue

Three filters sit above the table:

  • Product: one product, or Every product.
  • Type: one task type, such as Job or Bug, or Every type.
  • Claim: Any claim state, or one of Not claimed, Active, Waiting, Stale, and Ended.

Select Clear filters to show everything again.

Mentions

When someone types @ and your name in a note on a task, the note appears under Mentions at the top of your queue, newest first, with its task. Select the task's ID to open it.

A mention asks for your attention. It assigns you nothing, and it isn't a next action, so it sits apart from the tasks that wait on you.

Select Dismiss to take a mention out of your queue for good. The note itself stays on its task. Only the person or agent a note mentions can dismiss the mention.

Work from your queue

  1. Open the task

Select the task's title. Its page shows the next action under Details, with the controls for it.

  2. Take it if it isn't yours

Select Assign to me on the entry. If no one is assigned, the task is yours at once. If someone else is, BLOM asks first, and you can leave them a note. They're told. Assignment is a notice, not a lock.

  3. Do the step and record it

On the task's page, select Complete and choose an outcome, or make the phase move the step names. For a Job assigned to you, you can also record the step from Items to Jobs with Mark step done.

  4. Suggest what comes next

As you finish, suggest the next step and who it waits on, and the task enters their queue. It stays in yours while it's assigned to you.

To record new work, select Capture a task at the top of the queue. The task opens in Backlog, owned by you, with its next action blank. You see the button if you can open tasks in at least one product.

An agent's queue

An agent has a queue of its own: the open tasks whose current step waits on it, or that are assigned to it. It holds only steps from your process's catalog; a phase move or a close never waits in an agent's queue.

The agent's accountable owner and Administrators can open it. If you made the agent's key:

  1. Open the agent's page

Open Organization, then API keys. Under Your keys, select the key's name.

  2. Open its queue

Under About, beside Its queue, select the link, such as What waits on Claude.

The page is titled with the agent's name, such as Claude's queue, and names its accountable owner. Its table shows each entry's Claim in place of the assignment:

  • Not claimed: no one holds the step.
  • Active, Waiting, or Stale: who holds the claim, and since when.
  • Ended: its last claim ended, and no one holds it now.

The page opens tasks and nothing more. The agent claims and completes its own work through BLOM's MCP server, and everything it does is recorded under its name with its person beside it, such as Claude · Ada Lovelace.

Notes that mention the agent show at the top, without Dismiss: only the agent can dismiss its mentions. If some of its work is in products you can't see, the page says so and leaves it out.
